Cruise the Potomac River aboard your own two-person catamaran boat, also known as a Craigcat Boat. Experience the monuments and Washington, DC, or the Maryland/Virginia waters and Mount Vernon all from your own boat! Our knowledgeable guides create fun, memorable outings.
Monumental Boat Tours utilizes CraigCat boats. Tours are led by a guide on his/her own CraigCat boat, followed by our guests, driving their own CraigCat boats (2 passengers max per boat). Learn more about us and these unique boats.

Today was monumental in many ways! My husband and I booked a boat tour with Monumental Boat Tours !!!! We had a blast!!!! It's an intimate boat tour (boats are called CraigCats) where you get to navigate "your own boat" on the Potomac!!! It was an epic adventure!!! The Monumental Boat Tour Team are Rock Stars!!! They make sure you are safe from the time you leave the dock, all through the tour as well as when you return to the dock. The boats are immaculate.

Great trip! The boats are all brand new, easy to drive, and are a lot of fun and very peppy when you really open them up (which they definitely allow you to do!). Despite having lived in the DC area a number of years, I had never seen Mount Vernon or Fort Washington and certainly not from the vantage point of being on the Potomac. It was very cool. The staff were professional and emphasized safety, including measures related to preventing the spread of Covid.

This tour is all around amazing!! Our family relocated here from Hawaii, and I must say this is the closest feeling of being back on the island we've had. Brent and Mark aka Baywatch, were gracious, informative, and personable hosts. Our children enjoyed the historic tour, and words of encouragement about education received while on the tour. I really appreciated the emphasis on safety, teaching about the vessels, and the history. The views were breathtaking!

This was our 2nd adventure with Monumental Boat Tours out of National Habor. The staff is still as friendly and attentive as the first time, and our trip this go round was just as fun and exciting as the first time!! We even learned more information about Fort Washington, George Washington's home at Mt. Vernon, and the light house at Jones Point. I absolutely love riding the Craigcats, their easy to learn and a thrill to ride! Hats off the the owner and staff of Monumental Boat Tours, there's no other ride like it in the area.
Great experience on the water. Staff helpful, good Training and ability to drive on your own. We were able to switch drivers halfway so we all had a chance to drive. We saw two American Eagles. I will be back. Exceptional service and so much fun. Much cooler on the water and the tour guide was great giving us unique glimpses into history and wildlife in the area.

This is a brand new attraction at National Harbor!! Thank goodness bc Covid has everything else at the marina closed from Covid. Trust me after the other attractions open you won’t care about them because these boats are the best!! It’s a guided tour but you drive and control your own boat. Your connected by Walky Talky type radio’s to hear historical facts at Fort Washington and Mount Vernon. The tour is perfectly timed. You definitely feel like you get your money’s worth.

Covid precautions were in place at the dock. There is dry storage area behind your seats to keep your mask dry for returning to the dock.

Don’t miss out on this attraction while visiting National Harbor. DEFINITELY make reservations as they book up fast. The boats are very eye catching just sitting at the Marina but once they are loaded and visitor’s along the pier see everyone on them they are very interested. So plan ahead it’s worth it. I wonder if Dave would let me purchase a season pass... This is the most fun I’ve had in a while. I left feeling exhilarated. My son smiled the entire 2 hours. The boats are safe, the tour guide was knowledgeable, and the price is reasonable. I can’t wait to go back out. I booked twice in one week! Thank you guys for such an incredible experience. Worth. Every. Penny. My family and I took the tour and not only did we learn about the Potomac but we had a blast doing it in cool, water sport style! Staff was warm, welcoming and enthusiastic making the experience even more enjoyable! The instruction on how to use the boat was clear and precise and once we hit the water, having control of the boat was exhilarating!! We went in the evening and the sunset was a spectacular show in and of itself!! I highly recommend this experience. When we got back to the dock everyone in the family raved about the experience and talked about it over dinner. Thank you, thank you for the opportunity to create wonderful memories we will treasure!! And we will definitely be back!!
